Genetic relationships among yearling fertility, body composition and weight traits in tropically adapted composite cattle

چکیده
Context Reproduction is an economically important trait in both males and females; however, the relationships between fertility body composition traits are little researched, but essential to breeding programs, as they will help inform selection decisions allow greatest opportunity for genetic gain. Aims Estimate phenotypic correlations male female yearling investigate their relationship with traits, which have effect on attainment of puberty. Methods Genotype phenotype data were obtained from a tropical composite commercial cattle population imputed 27 638 single nucleotide polymorphisms. A series univariate bivariate linear mixed models using genomic matrix run estimate parameters, traits. These parameters then compared understand relationships. Key results Scrotal circumference was favourably genetically correlated weight (0.34), fat (0.06–0.24), muscle (0.24) heifer days calving (−0.32). Heifer (−0.18) not (0.11 0.21). The sperm morphology generally unfavourable (−0.32 0.25). Sperm (−0.84 0.31) (−0.61 (−0.15 0.09). Conclusions implications Yearling unfavourably calving, indicating that good candidates indirect improving herd. different trend found scrotal identifying it candidate easy measure heritable. estimated programs make informed decision optimise gain across all

Estimating Genetic Parameters of Body Weight Traits in Kourdi Sheep
For estimating genetic parameters for body weight traits in Kourdi sheep data were collected from 1996 to 2013 in Kourdi Breeding Station in Northern Khorasan province of Iran. Studied traits were birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW), six-month weight (6MW), nine-month weight (9MW) and yearling weight (YW). The fixed effects in the model were lambing year, sex, type of birth and age of dam. (...

The molecular marker (SSR) has been used to investigate the markers associated with the agronomic traits including days to 50% flowering, tube ring time, days to maturity, plant height, the number of main stems per plant, the number of tubers per plant, dry matter content, main stem diameter, a single tuber weight, average single tuber weight, and the total yield in potato genotypes. Ten primer...

Cattle behavior, including measures of docility, is important to beef cattle producers not only from a human safety perspective but also due to potential correlations to economically relevant traits. Field data from the American Hereford Association was used to estimate genetic parameters for chute score (CS; = 25,037), weaning weight (WW; = 24,908), yearling weight (YW; = 23,978), and intramus...
